DETROIT -- The Quick Lane Bowl's silver trophy doesn't have the notoriety of the Gophers' rivalry game trophies. But Minnesota wants the hardware to fill its dusty bowl trophy case and boost momentum heading into 2016.
Making their fourth straight bowl, the Gophers are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak in bowl games dating back to 2004. Minnesota (5-7) will play Central Michigan (7-5) at 4 p.m. Monday at Ford Field.
"The past three years I've been here, we haven't won a bowl game, so it would definitely mean a lot," said Gophers senior cornerback Eric Murray.
