Gophers down eight injured starters for Purdue game

The Gophers will be without eight starters for Saturday's game against Purdue, coach Jerry Kill told KFXN-FM.

"We're going to find a way to win," Kill said during his weekly radio show Thursday.

The known injuries to starters include safety Damarius Travis (hamstring), cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun (knee), tight end Lincoln Plsek (back) and tackle Ben Lauer (knee/hand). Also, punt returner Craig James broke his leg in last week's 27-0 loss to Northwestern.

Wednesday, Kill said 20 players were in no-contact practice jerseys, adding that two or three players could be done for the season. Four offensive linemen didn't practice Wednesday.
