Slovenia native Matic Spec is hoping to do some sight-seeing this weekend in New York City.
"Downtown, Times Square, stuff like that," said Spec, who has never been to the Big Apple. "Maybe Central Park if we get a chance. That's always fascinated me."
But Spec, a sophomore tennis player for Minnesota, might not get the chance to see Central Park. Not if he's preoccupied at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of the U.S. Open.
Spec and doubles partner Felix Corwin will hit the hardcourt in the 20-team doubles draw at the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, which start Thursday and wrap up Sunday.
