The Gophers never trailed in their second and final exhibition game, running the UW-Green Bay Phoenix out of the gym in a 115-86 victory at Maturi Pavilion. Six players scored in double figures while the team shot 59 percent from the field in a dominating performance.
Amir Coffey was the story of the game on offense, leading all scorers with 26 points on an impressive 10-15 shooting while delivering five assists.
But Isaiah Washington wasn’t far behind. He was lightning in a bottle off the bench, and previewed what the Gophers can expect this season from the presumed sixth man.
