Few folks outside of Fort Worth knew how talented Trevone Boykin was when he lit up the Gophers at Texas Christian last season.
A year later, Boykin was the first Heisman Trophy front-runner to open the season at Minnesota since O.J. Simpson with Southern California in 1968.
Finding a way to contain Boykin was arguably the biggest challenge for Jerry Kill's defense in his five seasons as the Gophers coach.
Boykin only had a couple Heisman moments in front of a sellout crowd Thursday night at TCF Bank Stadium. For the most part, the Gophers made him look mortal.
