Richard Pitino's basketball team has shown improvement recently, but the University of Minnesota coach is not holding his breath waiting for fans to come flocking back to games.
Pitino and his players understand the frustration the fan base feels for a team that is winless in the Big Ten, has an eight-game losing streak and losses in 11 of its past 12.
"When this place is rocking, it's very, very tough to beat us," Pitino said. "But I don't think it's rare for fans to be uneasy when you lose. That's everywhere."
The best chance the Gophers (6-13, 0-7) have to win anytime soon will be Saturday against Illinois (9-10, 1-5) at Williams Arena.
