The first time Richard Pitino's four talented freshmen played basketball together was August during Minnesota's tour to Spain.
Kevin Dorsey and Dupree McBrayer were in the backcourt; Ahmad Gilbert and Jordan Murphy were at the forward spots.
Murphy called the moment exciting. He remembers it clearly.
"All four of us looked at each other at one point and just started smiling," he said. "It was pretty cool."
Pitino said four freshmen on the floor at the same time "could happen" for the Gophers this season. It's not ideal, but he has no choice:
They're among his best players.
