Ex-Gophers assistant Zebrowski a finalist for La Crosse coaching job

Former Gophers quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski was named Thursday as one of four finalists for the head coaching job at Division III Wisconsin-La Crosse, the school said.

Zebrowski is competing against Travis Rundle, defensive coordinator at Illinois Wesleyan; Mike Schmidt, defensive coordinator at Wisconsin-Platteville; and Brent Schroeder, head coach at Caledonia (Minn.) High School.

The four coaches will be in La Crosse at different times next week, the school said. Zebrowski will be on campus Tuesday and Wednesday.

Zebrowski coached at Minnesota for five seasons until he was fired at the end of the 5-7 regular season in 2015 by head coach Tracy Claeys.
