Changes: The Wolverines lost many key players, notably national leading scorer and Hobey runner up Kyle Connor, who signed with the Jets after putting up 71 points and 35 goals. Junior J.T. Compher posted 63 points and also left when the season ended. Michigan lost its top four scorers in all, including Tyler Motte and defenseman Zach Werenski, a total of 226 points. The Wolverines are returning just one of their top seven scorers, Alex Kile. And the team’s next leading scorer, sophomore forward Cooper Marody, is academically ineligible for the first half of the season, per the Michigan Daily.
