Everyone thought that Al Horford would sign with the Warriors in free agency. While that could still happen, the Milwaukee Bucks are also among the teams in the mix for the 39-year-old who won't be returning to Boston.
On Monday's episode of ESPN's NBA Today, Marc Spears said that Golden State expected Horford to sign with the team last week. Spears listed the Bucks, Lakers, and Hawks as other teams interested in Horford's services, also mentioning that Horford is still considering retirement.
It might've seemed like a foregone conclusion that he'd go to the Warriors, or that he'd consider signing with the Lakers, but there's more to it than that.
