Precious Achiuwa’s dream of playing in the NBA and entering this NBA Draft wouldn’t have been possible without moving halfway around the world.
Born in Nigeria, Achiuwa and his family moved to the United States when Precious was 13 years old and he subsequently took up the game of basketball after having largely played soccer up until then. In many ways, Achiuwa’s journey was only just starting.
Achiuwa went on to play high school basketball in New York, New Jersey and then at Monteverde Academy in Florida for his senior year, all while becoming a five-star recruit and a McDonald’s All-American.
