Heading into draft night, expectations for what the Milwaukee Bucks would do with the 17th overall pick were hard to pinpoint.
A team coming off an encouraging postseason run like the Bucks had real needs to address, but were not in a position to profit being essentially in the middle of the draft.
The morass of big men that were regularly projected in the Bucks’ range were of no use for them, considering how deep they are already at the position. Additionally, hope of any of the highly coveted guards in this year’s draft class falling by the time the Bucks were picking at 17 were practically nonexistent.
