In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Milwaukee Bucks joined hip-hop legend DMC of the groundbreaking group Run-DMC for the fifth annual Jam Master Jay Back to School Bash. The event welcomed approximately 300 Milwaukee students in grades three through to 12 to the lawn in front of the Bucks front office to shop for school supplies and be treated to a show from Bucks entertainers – including mascot Bango, the Rim Rockers and Hoop Troop as well as special motivational speeches by DMC and the FOX Sports Wisconsin Youth of the Year, Anthony LaPoint.
This year’s Back to School Bash celebrated students from five organizations – Running Rebels, Operation Dream, Journey House, The Dominican Center and City on a Hill – who earned an invite to today’s event by completing community service, job training or academic enrichment this past summer.
