CINCINNATI -- The Brewers were making plans to place Wily Peralta on the paternity list on Thursday after the birth of his second child, and they have called up right-hander Tyler Cravy from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Friday's game against the Reds.
Peralta's wife, Denny, gave birth to a baby girl, Ciara, in Milwaukee on Thursday, and the Peraltas named Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado the godfather. Peralta and Denny also have a son, Wily Jr.
Cravy learned of his surprise promotion on Wednesday. It's the second callup from Triple-A this season for Cravy, who was converted from the bullpen to the starting rotation upon his demotion to Colorado Springs last month.
