The Red Sox have officially clinched a spot in the playoffs. When the Sox won last night against the Orioles, their magic number to clinch a wild card spot was down to one. The Indians and the Angels were still playing and if the Angels lost then it would mean that the Sox officially clinched the wild card. The Indians beat the Angels, so it’s official! Of course, that isn’t what the Sox will be celebrating as they are still looking to clinch the AL East. The Sox want to be guaranteed the ALDS, not just the chance at it.
