The Milwaukee Brewers made a couple of small roster moves this morning. In the first, Daz Cameron returned from paternity leave, and Drew Avans was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. In the other, Garrett Mitchell was sent to Nashville on a rehab assignment.
Avans played one game with the Brewers after a seven-game stint with the Athletics, which was his first major league action, earlier this year. Avans went 0-for-2 with a sac fly and the first RBI of his career in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.
Cameron last appeared with the Brewers last Monday, and will resume the backup outfielder role he has been fulfilling since late April.
