Milwaukee Brewers take catcher Darrien Miller in 9th round of MLB Draft

Tod Johnson and the Milwaukee Brewers waited until round nine of this year’s MLB Draft to select a high school player, and with the 283rd overall pick they have chosen catcher Darrien Miller out of Clovis High School in California. He hits left-handed and helped his high school squad to a Central Section Division I title in 2019.

Scouting information on Miller seems to be scarce on the internet, but a search of the Twitterverse provides these perspectives on the young backstop:

Brewers take Darrien Miller, an under-the-radar prep C from NorCal. Smooth lefthanded swing, scouts like the hit tool projection, should grow into some more power, solid athlete behind the plate, unsure if he'll stick there
