Milwaukee Brewers select lefty Nick Bennett in 6th round of MLB Draft

With their 6th round selection at pick #193 overall in the 2019 MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers have selected left-handed pitcher Nick Bennett out of Louisville. He’s the third left-handed pitcher that Tod Johnson and company have selected so far, suggesting that adding southpaws to the system may have been a priority in the Cream City this June.

Bennett spent three years at Louisville and produced a 3.58 ERA across 201.0 innings with 197 strikeouts against 66 walks and a 1.21 WHIP. Those stats are skewed toward the negative by a poor 2019 season, however, as he’s coming off a junior season in which he coughed up a 4.
