Not 24 hours after his release, Jordan Zimmerman was re-signed by the Milwaukee Brewers to a minor league contract.
The 35 year old veteran pitcher has not been overly impressive this Spring. A 6.00 ERA looks suspiciously like his numbers of the past few years. Of the previous four seasons, Zimmermann posted an ERA above 6.00 in three of those years. Once a really good pitcher, those days are behind him.
The move does give the Brewers depth and experience at the minor league level. He can come to the big leagues and pitch competently in case of injury.
