The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed infielder Hernan Perez off of waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Perez has made appearances in the big leagues each of the past 4 seasons for the Tigers. He has a .160/.189/.179 slash in 113 big league plate appearances. The 24 year old Venezuelan has mostly played second base and third base, but also has seen time at shortstop and first base.
He has had better success at the minor league level. In 149 games at the AAA level at the end of the 2013 season, and the entire 2014 season, Perez was much more effective.
