Melvin Upton Jr. Beats the Brewers, 3-0

If it isn't one thing, it's another. And if it isn't another thing, it's getting shut out at home.

The Brewers got one of the best starts of the season from Jimmy Nelson tonight. The Brewers' starter picked up 5 Ks on his way to 8 strong innings, while only giving up 2 runs.

Unfortunately, Padres' starter James Shields was locked in, and topped Nelson's performance with 7 shutout innings.

The damage came largely as the result of one man: OF Melvin Upton Jr., who went 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Upton's single in the 4th and HR in the 9th accounted for two of the Padres' runs.
