Junior Guerra continues to impress.
The 31-year-old right-hander made his fourth career major-league start his best yet, going seven innings and striking out 11 as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-3, on Thursday afternoon at Miller Park.
Chris Carter and Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit home runs to power the offense as Milwaukee won the series from Chicago in front of a crowd of 38,781 and under sunny skies with the roof open for the entire game.
Playing in front the most pro-Cubs crowd in the three games, Chicago wasted no time getting into the lead as Dexter Fowler blasted Guerra's second offering of the game into the stands in right.
