Game Thread #33: Milwaukee Brewers (16-16) vs. Chicago Cubs (19-13)

The I-94 Series. The Craig Counsell Series. The Colin Rea Series. The “Hey, We Don’t Like You Guys But We Will Sell You Our Season Tickets For Way More Than They’re Worth” Series. For the first time this season, the Brewers and Cubs meet as the two clubs vie for supremacy in the National League Central.

As we covered earlier today, this years Cubs are not last year’s Cubs. By OPS, they’ve been the second-best team in baseball this season, behind only the New York Aaron Judges. Chicago’s offense is led by new addition Kyle Tucker, yes, but they’ve gotten better-than-projected offensive performances from Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Michael Busch, and the league’s leader in OPS if he qualified, backup catcher Carson Kelly.
