First-inning issues plague Chase Anderson

Phoenix — To stay on schedule, right-hander Chase Anderson pitched Wednesday in a game for Class AAA Colorado Springs. As he has throughout the spring, Anderson struggled in the first inning, allowing a couple of homers, before settling down over the next three frames.

"He wasn't in rhythm to start but then as he got going, he got a lot better and finished really strong, actually," manager Craig Counsell said.

"It's hard to pitch over there (on the back fields at Maryvale Baseball Park). After you sit in the stadium here and then go over there, it's hard.
