The Brewers acquired lefty reliever Xavier Cedeno from the White Sox on Friday, according to a report by MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
Cedeno, 32, would join former White Sox reliever Joakim Soria in Milwaukee's bullpen as the Brewers look to strengthen their relief corps. His addition could take some of the load off lefty relievers Josh Hader and Dan Jennings, who have already combined to throw nearly 130 innings this season. Cedeno is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA and has recorded 28 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings in 2018.
