The Milwaukee Brewers moved into the top spot in the National League Wild Card standings this afternoon when they used one big inning to defeat the Mets, who are currently in free fall. Isaac Collins had four hits, including a homer, and Joey Ortiz had the big hit of the day, while Freddy Peralta turned in a quality start.
Sal Frelick got the Brewer offense to a great start in this one when he deposited Clay Holmes’ second pitch of the game in the right field seats for his sixth home run of the year and second in consecutive games.
