Brewers swept at home as bats stay quiet

Giants 3, Brewers 1

San Francisco’s Joe Panik (left) is congratulated by teammate Nori Aoki after hitting a two-run homer during the fifth inning.

It's called the losing syndrome.

When the hitters have a good day, the pitchers do not. When the pitchers throw a good game, the hitters take the day off.

It was the latter for the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday with what has become an all-too-predictable result.

By losing, 3-1, to the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park, the Brewers not only were swept in the three-game series. They also dropped their fifth in a row and seventh in eight games.
