Just as the Brewers got starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff back from injury, the team has lost another key player in first baseman Rhys Hoskins.
Hoskins, 32, suffered a left thumb sprain in Saturday’s loss to the Marlins, as an errant throw by Joey Ortiz resulted in a tag by Hoskins that will now send him to the injured list.
After initial X-rays came back negative, an MRI revealed a Grade 2 left thumb sprain, per Todd Rosiak. The official roster move will come Monday ahead of Milwaukee’s series with the Dodgers.
Update on Rhys Hoskins: MRI revealed a Grade 2 left thumb sprain that will land him on the IL.
