Just yesterday, I wrote about the promise that the Milwaukee Brewers' 2025 second-round draft pick, Frank Cairone, holds as he approaches his professional debut. Cairone, who celebrated his 18th birthday last September, was named MLB Pipeline's top breakout candidate among Brewers prospects heading into the 2026 season. However, today, baseball couldn't matter less.
As announced by the Brewers on Saturday night, and relayed to fans by both MLB.com's Adam McCalvy and Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Cairone was involved in a serious car accident on Friday night in his home state of New Jersey.
