Brewers fall in season finale against St. Louis, 5-2, but still stumble backwards into postseason berth

At the outset of this Sunday, things seemed simple for the Milwaukee Brewers — win, and you’re in.

As the final day of the 2020 MLB regular season concludes, however, things wound becoming awfully convoluted. The final result is still a positive one for fans of the Cream City Nine as the team has clinched a third straight playoff berth for the first time in franchise history.

The Brewers were in St. Louis, finishing their fifth game against the Cardinals in the last four days. Brett Anderson took the hill for Milwaukee, and after putting up zeroes in the first two innings, he ran into trouble in the third.
