The Brewers will have another fresh arm available as they play (at least) 14 innings against the Chicago Cubs in a doubleheader today.
After Hunter Strickland was activated off the COVID list ahead of last night’s game that never was, Jake Cousins is being activated ahead of this afternoon’s game.
Strickland and Cousins went on the COVID list after experiencing mild symptoms and testing positive on July 31st. The Brewers said both had been vaccinated.
Bullpen depth has been a strength for the Brewers this year, but it was tested during this recent outbreak, contributing at least in part to the Brewers’ series loss to San Francisco last weekend.
