Wolves to appoint Rob Edwards as new manager after Middlesbrough boss agreed three-and-a-half-year contract - as compensation figure is revealed

Rob Edwards will be confirmed as the new manager of Wolves after he agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Wolves reached agreement on a compensation deal with Middlesbrough worth over £3million for the 42-year old on Saturday morning, just hours after Edwards had been stood down from taking charge of the Championship club's victory over Birmingham City.

Boro had initially rejected Wolves' approach for their manager, who was only appointed in June, and accused the Molineux club of breaking Premier League rules.

However, Edwards made it clear he wished to talk to Wolves where he has previously played and coached while his family live nearby.
