Millwall 0-2 Middlesbrough: Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher strikes secure crucial win for Neil Warnock's Boro as they climb out of Championship drop zone

Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher scored as Middlesbrough secured a vital away victory over play-off chasing Millwall on Wednesday afternoon.

Neil Warnock's men opened the scoring on 70 minutes after Fletcher centred for Assombalonga to fire home, but Gary Rowett's players were left irate after Jake Cooper was shoved off the ball in the build-up.

Cooper's day got worse when he was shown a yellow card for upending Fletcher in the penalty area on 86 minutes, and the Boro striker lifted himself off the turf to score from the spot.
