Middlesbrough v Chelsea: 'Come and be loud' - Boro boss Michael Carrick's message to fans

Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick says his players have an "unbelievable opportunity" to write their names in club folklore when they host Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Tuesday.

Championship club Boro are without a major trophy since 2004.

They host five-time winners Chelsea in the first leg, with the return at Stamford Bridge on 23 January.

"It'll be huge. For the fans, come and enjoy it. Come and be loud," said Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick.

Carrick, who won the competition three times as a player with Manchester United, added: "There's a freshness about it.
