Leeds United cut Djed Spence's loan deal short and send him back to Tottenham after the defender made just seven league apparances since signing in the summer

Leeds United have sent Djed Spence back to Tottenham after triggering a break clause to cut short his loan move.

The 23-year-old wing-back has made just seven Championship appearances after being hindered by a knee injury since joining on a season-long loan in August.

Spence picked up the injury during a training session not long after his arrival in the summer.

He went on to miss 12 league matches before returning to action during Leeds' 2-0 win against Blackburn back in December.

The right-back joined Tottenham in 2022 from Middlesbrough for £20million before going out on loan to French side Rennes for the second half of last season.
