Striker Jordan Rhodes has been permitted to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Middlesbrough, the English Football League has confirmed.
The Owls agreed a deal with Boro on Tuesday which saw the striker go to the Sky Bet Championship club until the end of the season, with the move later becoming permanent for an undisclosed fee.
All the parties involved had to play a waiting game to find out whether the paperwork had gone through before the deadline of 23:00 GMT.
