'I signed in Nice because I understood absolutely nothing of what he was telling me': Former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard reveals he fled back to France due to Gordon Strachan's Scottish accent

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard has revealed that being unable to understand Gordon Strachan's Scottish accent was the reason behind his departure from the club.

The Frenchman's contract at the Riverside Stadium ran for three years following his move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2008.

But after just more than a year playing under Gareth Southgate, the current England boss was sacked in October 2009, and Strachan was named his replacement later that month.
