Middlesbrough have signed Slovakia international forward David Strelec on a five-year deal from Slovan Bratislava for an undisclosed fee.

Strelec has played 30 times for his country, scoring seven goals.

He made 166 appearances in all competitions for his previous club, scoring on 62 occasions, including four times in six games this season.

Strelec also featured in the Uefa Champions League league phase last season, notably finding the net in a defeat at Atletico Madrid.

"I'm delighted to be here," he told the club website.

"There was a lot of speculation over the last nine months and I wanted to come here.
