Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Hull City defender Alfie Jones on a four-year contract.

The 27-year-old moves to the Riverside Stadium for an undisclosed fee and becomes Rob Edwards' first signing as Boro boss.

Jones leaves Hull after five years having come through the Southampton academy and had loan spells at Gillingham and St Mirren.

"I'm absolutely buzzing to be here and ready to get to work," Jones said.

"The size of the club speaks for itself. Everything about it makes it such an attractive place to be, and I'm delighted to be part of it now.
