MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – LA Woodard and Austin Dennis were both selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday afternoon with Woodard going in the 16th round and Dennis going in the 20th round.
Woodard was the first to hear his name called when the New York Mets selected him with the 470th pick in the 16th round.
"It's an amazing feeling." Woodard said. "I still don't think it's hit me yet."
In his first year at Middle Tennessee, Woodard started 52 games at shortstop and earned the C-USA Academic Medal.
