MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee fought hard in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship, but top-seeded FIU lived up to expectations and took the match, 4-0.
The doubles portion of the match was tight, but the Panthers came away with the first point of the match due to 6-4 wins at No. 1 and 2. and were able to get a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
FIU worked fast at No. 3 singles, winning the match 6-0, 6-2. After a close first set at No. 2, the Panthers took full control in the second and came out the victor, 7-5, 6-2.
