DALLAS – Following a strong performance to open the 2023-24 women's basketball season, Middle Tennessee guard Savannah Wheeler was named the Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Wheeler, a fifth-year from Catlettsburg, Kentucky picked up her sixth career weekly accolade - she has previously been named Player of the Week three times and Freshman of the Week twice.
The preseason CUSA Player of the Year tallied 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the Lady Raiders' 67-47 win over Memphis to open the season.
