Oakland got somewhat of a test early, but the Patriots continue to be the beast of Region 2 in Class 6A football on Friday night.
The No. 2 Patriots remained undefeated on the season, improving to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in league play with a 35-7 victory over Riverdale in the Battle of the 'Boro and the Kia of Murfreesboro Game of the Week. It was the only game this season involving an Oakland game that didn't have a running clock at some point.
The loss for Riverdale dropped the Warriors (4-4, 3-2) to fourth place in the region as Blackman (5-3, 4-1) and Smyrna (6-2, 4-1) were both winners and remained tied for second behind Oakland.
