DALLAS - Redshirt freshman Markus Varjun has been named Blenders Eyewear Conference USA Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league today. The native of Tallinn, Estonia, finished in a tie for eighth at the Grover Page Classic this week, moving up 41 spots from the end of the first round to the end of the tournament.
Varjun stormed back after a slow start to card scores of 69 and 68 in the second and third rounds, finishing the tournament with a score of 212 (-4).
He was three off the lead among the 96-player field with 13 birdies, adding a pair of eagles.
