MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Just as preseason skill development is getting underway, the Blue Raiders have suffered a slight setback as rising senior will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a damaged ligament in his left wrist.
Upshaw experienced slight pains in postseason play, but made great progress since the season ended until the pain returned over the last couple of weeks. After an MRI on Friday revealed a torn ligament in his wrist, Upshaw and head coach scheduled the surgery for Thursday morning.
Upshaw should be ready to return to running and conditioning six weeks after his surgery and could be cleared for non-contact basketball skill development and activities in approximately 90 days.
