With 2015 in the books, it's time to move ahead to a new year for Rutherford County sports.

What will happen in 2016? Who knows, but let's pull out the crystal ball, dust it off and try to make some predictions.

The MTSU men's and women's basketball teams opened Conference USA play on Sunday with the hopes of winning a league championship and making the NCAA tournament.

Based on what we've seen thus far, the men probably have the better chance at making the NCAA tournament, but it is still somewhat of a long shot. The question is can MTSU's backcourt elevate its play?
