MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — For six frames on Saturday at Reese Smith Jr. Field, Middle Tennessee baseball kept UTSA under control. Its pitchers stranded eight Roadrunners on base in those six innings, putting up zeros on the scoreboard in every frame. MT even scratched across runs of their own in the bottom half of three of those innings.
Unfortunately for the Blue Raiders, a five-run top of the third, three-run top of the fifth and four-run top of the ninth was all the Roadrunners needed, as UTSA cruised to a 12-3 win to clinch the Conference USA series.
