"That’s just kind of who Chase is” — Cunningham ready to compete after ACL Tear

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — It was just a little line screen RPO. One Chase Cunningham had run hundreds of times between spring ball, fall camp, and getting his shot at QB1 for the Blue Raiders that year.

Cunningham read the Southern Miss defense, pulling the ball back from the arms of Martell Pettaway to roll out right.

"Probably wasn't the best read, if I could've just given it to the running back," Cunningham trails off months later. "But I didn't."

Instead, a Golden Eagles defender was in his face shortly thereafter, abandoning the route in the flat to pressure the quarterback.
