Tar Heels Out Last Raiders in Pitchers Duel

Chapel Hill N.C. – The Middle Tennessee baseball team fell to North Carolina 1-2 on a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Raiders (0-2, C-USA 0-0) were led on the mound by a tremendous performance from junior Peyton Wigginton.

The Blue Raiders jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by cleanup hitter Brycen Thomas. Thomas' lone RBI was enough cushion for Raider pitcher Peyton Wigginton through the majority of the game.

Wigginton kept the Tar Heel hitters in check, pitching 7.2 scoreless innings before giving up a solo home run that tied the game in the eighth inning.
