MTSU's Richie James and Brent Stockstill were both recognized as Freshmen All-Americans Wednesday by Athlon Sports.
James earned his second First Team Freshman All-American honors this year while Stockstill was a second team pick.
James (Sarasota, Fla.) turned in the best season of any freshman in Conference USA history with a school record 100 receptions for 1,220 yards and six touchdowns. James, who had four 100-yard receiving games, is just the second 1,000-yard receiver in MT history. Earlier, James was voted to USA Today's Freshman All-American team.
Stockstill (Murfreesboro) broke nearly every single-season passing record at MTSU while setting a new C-USA freshman passing mark.
